You should take the time to read this post, elsewhere: McClatchy Examines McCain’s Health Care Proposal

I’ll admit that trying to keep up on these proposals is a daunting task. At least articles like this one are helpful.

Why do I care? Why should coders care? Because the proposals may drastically affect how coding is done, especially if the idea of “universal healthcare” comes to mean “single-payer” which is code for the goverment handling it all.

After all, they did such a good job handling a single hurricane, why can’t they do that good a job on healthcare?

Not to mention… we already HAVE universal coverage. It’s called, EMTALA.
